An animal adult, whether human or non-human, is one that has grown to its full potential. Adults are social concepts and a legal one in our world. As opposed to a "non-adult" or "minor" an legal adult has reached the age of majority. They are considered to be an independent, self-sufficient person and accountable. Legal adults can also be called a major. Age 18 is as the age of legal maturity, but this definition can differ depending on the country, rights of the law or mental development.

Adulthood is the time in the human lifespan when the person is at maturity in terms of both physical and mental growth. Adulthood usually begins when a person reaches an age that is 21. The middle age is about 40 years old and is followed by the older age of around 60. The three major stages of adulthood are early adulthood (from mid-30s to late-60s) and middle adulthood, from mid-30s to late-60s and later adulthood, (mid-60s through the time of death). By the time we reach an early age (20 to the early 40s) the physical development is completed, though our height and weight could increase a bit. Our physical capabilities are peaking at the age of young adulthood. It includes strength of muscles and reflex speed, as well as sensors, and the heart's function.
